Week of the 8th of July
We had very unsettled water levels during the Tobin party’s week. We were washed off two afternoons when the river rose several feet within half an hour. Even so, they managed to catch 6 grilse and 3 salmon for the week. Philip Wheeler caught his first ever, a grilse from Burnmouth. Robert Price caught his second ever fish from Kennel run and Jessica McCulloch caught her second ever salmon from the Washerwoman 3 years to the day from the same pool. It weighed 12lb The host, Andrew Tobin caught a grilse from the Lower Craigs. Joey O’neil, who was invited to fish at the end of the week caught 1 salmon and 4 grilse,
One of the thunder plumps resulted in a huge amount of rock coming out of the Sgodachail burn changing the pool completely. we wonder how long the rock will stay there but we have caught 2 fish above it already so perhaps it won’t matter how long it takes.
