Week of the 17th April
We had some very low water until Friday when the river rose from minus 9″ first thing to 4’9″ at lunch time. By 5pm it was back to 2’6″ and Robin Stevenson caught a 10lber in the Boat. On Saturday 4 were caught. Alasdair Mackie caught his first ever salmon in Gruinards run and went on to get a second from the Rock pool weighing 6 and 8lb.Stuart Gray caught 1 in the Washerwoman and Jerry Alexander caught 1 in Gardners.
On the 20th with minus 9 on the gauge Professor Bill Gilmore caught Braelangwell’s first fish above the Morail, a 6.5lber from the Upper Craigs.
Sometimes it can be a struggle to find out what comes off the river in a week but last week (week of the 10th) without any figures from Invercarron there was 38 salmon off the Carron.
