Finlay McCulloch joined us at Braelangwell in 2008. ‘Fin’ is a dedicated ghillie with all the attributes it takes for the job. Locally born, his father was a ghillie on the Oykel for 18 years – and is still remembered and respected today.

Fin grew up ghillying at weekends and holidays and did his first full week on the Oykel, aged 14. Just a couple of years later we met Fin whilst fishing on the Upper Oykel in the record breaking year of 1989. Before joining us at Braelangwell he had taken over from his father as full-time ghillie on the Oykel for seven years.
Fin will be happy to help and advise you on any fishing matters and will be there for all during you stay, except on Saturdays when he needs to attend to the garden and other extra jobs!
